What the green marker on a profile means, and what it does not.
The green marker means identity
A green corner on a photograph, and the green ID Verified marker on a profile, mean one thing: the person advertising completed an identity check with an independent verification provider and the result was approved. Roesas does not apply that marker for any other reason, and it cannot be bought.
A membership is not a verification
Blue, Gold, VIP are the advertising memberships an advertiser can buy. They decide how prominently a profile is placed and which features it has — nothing more. A membership says what somebody paid for. It says nothing about who they are, and it never produces the green marker.
The two are kept apart in the software as well as in the wording: the identity marker is read only from the verification result, and is never derived from a payment.
How identity verification works
Step 1
Agreements
Before any check begins, the advertiser records the agreements the check is carried out under. These are stored once and are not editable afterwards, so the terms a check was performed under stay part of its record.
Step 2
Identity check
The advertiser is handed to Sumsub, an independent identity verification provider, and completes the check there. Roesas receives the outcome, not the documents.
Step 3
Decision
An approved result is what turns on the green marker. A submission that has not been decided yet shows nothing, and a rejected one never shows the marker.
Verification belongs to the account, not to a single advertisement. An advertiser who has been approved does not repeat the check when they publish again — their next advertisement goes straight to content review.
Content review is separate
Identity is one check; what an advertisement actually says and shows is another. Every advertisement is reviewed by a person before it becomes public, and an edit to a published advertisement is reviewed again before the change goes live. Passing one of these checks does not pass the other, and a paid membership does not pass either.
